JMU Wedding Recap: Amanda & Foster

Being a wedding ensemble founded at James Madison University almost four years ago, we are always equally humbled and excited when JMU couples invite Got Strings to provide the ceremony music. Today we’re celebrating the marriage of Amanda and Foster, a couple we had the privilege of working with this past summer. Congratulations again to the happy couple, and as always… Go Dukes!

The Couple

Both JMU alumni, Amanda and Foster’s paths first crossed at an alumni association meeting in Philadelphia almost four years ago… and the rest is history! The two compliment each other in the best way, and Foster’s way of proposing should probably earn him #hubbyoftheyear. The proposal consisted of a series of letters given to Amanda by her loved ones, each one leading her upstairs to the rooftop where Foster was proudly waiting, small box in hand.

The Venue

In true JMU alum fashion, the couple chose to have the ceremony at Festival Lawn, followed by the reception on top of the new D-Hall overlooking the football field. Talk about #couplegoals. Oh, and did we mention they included lilac into their color palette?!

The Music

To help celebrate their special day, Amanda and Foster chose our quartet package to help serenade the 150 friends and family on their guest list. The chose multiple arrangements for their ceremony like In My Life (bridal party entrance), Here Comes the Sun (bridal entrance), and All You Need is Love (recessional). As a JMU based ensemble, having the opportunity to celebrate Amanda and Foster at our alma mater felt just right. We love your love!
